"I am a rescue Machine Robo that can make the impossible possible!"

—Machine Commander Robo is not programmed to have self-doubt Be Reborn, Jay!

TMR-04MC Machine Commander Robo (マシンコマンダーロボ) is a Machine Robo that is part of Machine Robo Rescue.

Created by Professor Tōru Suidōbashi, it can become the spacecraft Machine Commander which can split into three flight-capable units - MC-001 Red Commander, MC-002 Blue Commander and MC-003 Yellow Commander - which can then be piloted by the Leader Robo of the Red Wings, Yellow Gears and Blue Sirens teams and their Robo Masters. Any of the three Robo Masters onboard can be rotated into the main cockpit of Machine Commander Robo to guide whatever emergency is at hand. In spaceship mode it has a darling little meeting room in the middle too.

As part of his design he can combine with V Stealth Robo to initiate the MRR Victory Plan, forming Machine Commander Robo V.

After Red Wings members Taiyoh Ohzora, Lin Haruka and Kai Kitazawa travelled to the International Space Station along with Shuttle Robo and others freed from Jay after a rescue they found that the plants onboard had grown to giant size and began attacking the crew. To take up reinforcements, the Professor volunteered the untested Machine Commander, which was boarded by Arias "Ace" Honoh, Makoto Aikawa, Daichi Hayami, Alice Beckham and Ken Minami. The ship was launched successfully from the Slinger Catapult and soon arrived off the station. There it split up into separate vehicles to land cadets armed with acid to kill the plants and rescue Taiyoh, who had been blown out of an airlock. Machine Commander came under attack from a Gura Gorro during the mission, but it was driven off by Shuttle Robo. Both then travelled onwards to the Moon. Save the Space Station! It landed there successfully Lunar Rescue, Begin! before returning to Earth. MRR 24 Hours

Professor Suidōbashi then continued work on Machine Commander, which was fully completed. However, to access its' full abilities it required the three Robo Masters piloting it to cooperate and as a result Chief Bitou and the instructors were concerned to find out that Ace, Makoto, Daichi and Taiyoh had been brawling. When Colonel Hazard used his new Catfish device to cause earthquakes in the South American Republic of Borale, Machine Commander was sent as it could use a ballistic trajectory to quickly reach the location. Fire Robo, Drill Robo and Police Robo were loaded onboard along with Ace, Daichi and Makoto. The trio were able to put aside their distances and successfully covert him into Machine Commander Robo in order to fight BL Fire Robo. The new combination was successful, and Fire Robo was able to recover the Aider Robo in the process, while BL Fire Robo was sent crashing into the Catfish by Machine Commander Robo. Combine! Machine Commander Robo After Colonel Hazard took over the Uranos 2 communications airship and paralysed electronics systems worldwide, the Red Wings and Yellow Gears cadets were able to manually launch Machine Commander to help the Blue Sirens members onboard. Machine Commander Robo defeated BL Fire Robo before helping Jet Robo save the airship from crashing into the sea. Airship SOS!

He joined the MRR effort to prevent a landslide from hitting Hinosuke, transporting Police Robo, Fire Robo and Drill Robo to the town before helping evacuate the population. Later Machine Commander Robo helped clear a collapsed bridge blocking a river before it could erode the flood defences. Proud Fire Brigade! Machine Commander was slated to take help to the Amazon, where Taiyoh and Ace had become separated from the rest of Red Wings. However, instead he was needed to take Yellow Gears to Europe to deal with a cave-in. Survival of the Fittest! The successful first flight of the Machine Commander was one of the examples Kai cited of the cadets' field ability when they were criticised by Professor Suidōbashi. The Mysterious Superhero Captain Miracle The Red Commander module was hijacked by Jay after he was found amnesiac by MRR. Makoto had triggered his memories, and Jay set off to find the lost Stealth Robo - locating him in an underwater volcano. Makoto and Daichi soon joined him in Blue Commander and Yellow Commander. After they combined, Musashi Miyajima and Koshiro Sasaki tried to call the cadets back, only for Machine Commander Robo to dress them down for doubting him. He was able to rescue Stealth Robo, though the help of Jet Robo and Gyro Robo was required to help complete the rescue when a trio of Gura Gorros attempted to intervene. Be Reborn, Jay! After BL Drill Robo tried to draw Stealth Robo and Jay out, Machine Commander helped them defeat the Disaster BL Machine Robo. Jay, Join the MRR!

Machine Commander Robo was then given the task of training the rebuilt V Stealth Robo but found the latter's loner attitude hard to stomach. This inability to cooperate endangered their ability to activate the Professor's Victory Plan, and when a group of typhoons threatened a fishing vessel Machine Commander Robo set off with only Taiyoh. However, the typhoons were artificially created by the Disasters, and Machine Commander Robo was shot down by Hell Island. Due to the rough seas V Stealth Robo was the only one able to reach them, accessing the Victory Plan to recharge Machine Commander Robo as the pair combined to form Machine Commander Robo V, saving the vessel and vanquishing BL Fire Robo. The Strongest Combination! Machine Commander Robo V Machine Commander Robo was part of the response to a Gura Gorro attack on Hayami Heavy Industries, combining with V Stealth Robo under Daichi's control to defeat the attackers. Daichi's Resolution Along with the Leader Robo, his advanced AI was disabled by a freak resonance from the engine of the liner Poseidon after it collided with an oil liner off Rescue Headquarters. The cadets were forced to rely on the Supporter Robo only, until the Professor was able to work out what was wrong with a little prompting from Bone. As such Machine Commander was able to join the rescue belatedly, combining with V Stealth Robo to use the Wind Tornado and extinguish the fire on the liner. Machine Robo Out of Action! After the Disasters tried to take control of the Sunrise 1 satellite, Machine Commander Robo was sent into space to stop it from firing a beam of microwave energy at Earth. He was able to combine with V Stealth Robo, using their shield to absorb the energy and direct it back to the satellite. The Greatest Errand of All Time Due to their ongoing inability to get along, Jay and Makoto were assigned to train together in Machine Commander. Unfortunately they continued to squabble, and contrived to eject themselves over Hell Island. The pilotless Machine Commander was found undamaged, and the pair were eventually rescued by V Stealth Robo and Police Robo. The Secret of the Disasters

Unfortunately Kaiser-G's plans for widespread destruction were now reaching fruition, and Hell Island cut off the island of Kanameshima. As scans couldn't penetrate the storms around the island all of MRR were sent in, finding that the Disasters had triggered the island's volcano. During the evacuation Hell Island moved in to attack and MRR were bombarded by Gura Gorro suicide troops, which Machine Commander Robo and Gyro Robo were largely able to neuter. While Jet Robo and V Stealth Robo were able to destroy Hell Island it was revealed to now just be a shell around Kaiser-G's huge body. Kaiser-G effortlessly dealt with Jet and V Stealth before using his gravity powers to pin Machine Commander Robo, Gyro Robo and Submarine Robo when they tried to go to their comrades' aid. Activate, Kaiser-G! When Jet and V Stealth tried to counter-attack once again Kaiser-G swatted them into the volcano itself; still unable to even approach the villain, Machine Commander Robo ordered a retreat so the population of Kanameshima could be removed safely. Having survived the lava, Taiyoh and Jay later made contact with Rescue Headquarters, with Ace, Makoto and Daichi taking Machine Commander out to pick them up. Colonel Hazard and BL Police Robo then attacked them, but Daichi's precise calculations allowed Machine Commander Robo to destroy the latter while Jay was able to deal with Hazard. However, by now Kaiser-G had reached Tokyo and set the meteorite Tartarus on a collision course with Earth. A Looming Catastrophe! MRR scrambled with all available strength to combat him, but Kaiser-G had surrounded himself with a forcefield. While Drill Robo and Gyro Robo were briefly able to open a hole in the field for Machine Commander Robo, Kaiser-G's gravity attack prevented him from entering. A change of strategy saw Machine Commander Robo and the other Machine Robo create a distraction, allowing a group of cadets to get inside Kaiser-G and plant explosives. The arrival of Shuttle Robo and V Stealth Robo, repaired from the damage sustained in the volcano, allowed him to form Machine Commander Robo V, destroying the device pulling Tartarus towards Earth and finally dispatch Kaiser-G. All Hands on Deck, Save the Planet! On the day of the cadets' graduation, Machine Commander Robo helped rescue a damaged tourist submarine. Fly, MRR!

After the formation of International Hyper Rescue, Machine Commander Robo remained attached to MRR, and gave a rousing speech in Alice Beckham's orientation video for the new intake. Sortie!

Commander DX[edit | edit source]

  • Machine Commander Robo (2003)
    • Accessories:
Machine Commander Robo was released in Bandai's Machine Robo Rescue toyline in August 2003, and converts from robot to spaceship. The spaceship can further split into the Red Commander, Yellow Commander and Blue Commander modules, which can house any of the Leader Robo, albeit partially transformed. The robot can also combine with V-Stealth Robo to form Machine Commander Robo V. Due to the need to accommodate the Leader Robo figures Machine Commander Robo is very, very boxy and has only limited articulation at the shoulders; he is also very light and hollow. The toy retailed at ¥4500.
  • Like the rest of Machine Robo Rescue, Machine Commander Robo was not released outside of Japan.
