Jay and Makoto make an unscheduled trip to Hell Island.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

MRRE47-019MakotoJay.jpg

Jay and Makoto are flight training in the Machine Commander - with part of the plan being to fix their still-frosty relationship. On this front it doesn't go well as Jay's seat-of-the-pants flying - including sky-writing 'MRR' with the Machine Commander's vapour trail - goes against Makoto's cautious personality. He the buzzes Rescue Headquarters, causing a wave that soaks the watching Taiyoh, Daichi, Lin and Bone. A fight breaks out in the cockpit - sending Machine Commander out of control as a result. It ends up in a thundercloud and the pair manage to simultaneously eject from Machine Commander - still arguing as they parachute away. As Rescue Headquarters struggles to track Machine Commander, Brad Bitou orders Submarine Robo, Jet Robo, Gyro Robo and V Stealth Robo launched to find them. Jay meanwhile awakens - and finds he has landed on the Disasters' flying Hell Island, which is at the centre of the storm. The Machine Robo soon find Machine Commander but find it empty and are unable to locate the two crew members due to the electromagnetic interference. Jay meanwhile finds Makoto; however, his parachute is stuck and he is found by a Gura Gorro before Jay can free him. Makoto is instead taken before Colonel Hazard, who wants to know where the other MRR parachutist is. Makoto refuses to cooperate, so Hazard resolves to instead use him as bait, though he believes Jay is unlikely to rescue him. Jay meanwhile stumbles across what passed for his play area as he grew up under Disaster's control with only a Mame Gorro named F as a carer. Coincidentally F is among the guard Mame Gorros Hazard sends out to find the second cadet, but Jay appears himself moments later.

Not a Minion.

Jay is able to trick the Mame Gorros into shooting the ropes restraining Makoto, getting them free. They escape and plan to contact the rest of Machine Robo Rescue for back-up, as Jay tells Makoto he grew up on Hell Island and knows the place better even than Hazard. Below, Jet Robo and Gyro Robo try to penetrate the huge thunderstorm but the conditions force them to turn back. Inside the Disasters' base, Jay and Makoto run into F, who still believes it is its' job to watch over Jay and helps them get away from the pursuing guards. However, they are detected by Kaiser-G - who reveals his real identity as Doctor Kaiser, and is seemingly human. He directs them to an area that even Jay hasn't seen before, where a new body is being built for Kaiser-G. His image then disappears as rocks begin to fall into the chamber. Meanwhile F is fending off the guards that are trying to follow the pair but Hazard arrives with reinforcements. Jay and Makoto meanwhile find Hell Island's control room and cut the jamming while they try to copy some of the data on Kaiser-G. Jay is able to contact V Stealth Robo but F is being overwhelmed and Hazard's guards riddle it with bullets. F then activates its' self-destruct, vaporising the guards to give Jay and Makoto more time to escape. A full-size Gura Gorro blocks their path but V Stealth Robo arrives with Police Robo riding on top. As more Gura Gorros arrive they risk getting overwhelmed until Jay suggests Police Robo uses V Stealth Robo's Hyper Mode parts in an EX Combination. He is able to draw them off long enough for Jay and Makoto to board V Stealth Robo. They then escape, losing the Gura Gorros in the cloud. Hazard grovels for forgiveness but Kaiser-G tells him it all went entirely to his plan, as he wants MRR to know how hopeless the idea of stopping him is. Meanwhile, Jay is saddened by the death of F but finds Makoto more understanding - having even saved the heart Jay fitted to F's CPU years before.

Notes[edit | edit source]

"You don't deserve to know my name! Though I don't know it either, so if you do know it help a fellow out..."

Continuity notes[edit | edit source]

  • Makoto calls Colonel Hazard 'Manager Hazard', 'Employee Chief', 'Island Chief' harking back to repeatedly getting his title wrong in "Airship SOS!". At this point it's unclear if he's doing it accidentally or on purpose. The Gura Gorros meanwhile wonder if Hazard's rank is actually lower than the one he eschews, with one thinking it makes him more like a department head.
  • The guard Mame Gorros are smaller than Gura Gorros, have chainguns and silver midsections.
  • F meanwhile wears a pink maid's costume, has eyelashes and painted nails, and is also roughly human-sized.
  • Colonel Hazard is blown in half by F's explosion but can still move his legs, and is back together in time to grovel to Kaiser-G.

Continuity and plotting errors[edit | edit source]

  • How did Police Robo get out to Machine Commander? He wasn't shown leaving. Was he in there all through the accident and just didn't say or do anything while Makoto and Jay beat each other up?
