Synopsis[edit | edit source]

MRRE33-006Ceremony.jpg

Machine Robo Rescue are being honoured for their efforts with a commendation and awards ceremony at the Space Agency, though those present break into the usual pattern of bickering as the assembled dignitaries look on. Jet Robo is more dignified as he is presented with a gigantic certificate on behalf of MRR. Unnoticed by anyone, Jay is in the audience too, and uncharacteristically returns a balloon to a 3-year old girl after she runs into him. Fascinated, she follows him inside the nearby building, wanting to thank him. Meanwhile MRR prepare to make their acceptance speeches, with Alice and Ace jostling for attention as Makoto plans a detail-heavy lecture. Taiyoh however is overcome by nerves and excuses himself to the bathroom. On his way back he notices strange sparks inside the building - a security lock has been wrecked by Jay as he attempts to hack the Agency's computer, hoping to find out more about the Mars probe space accident ten years before. Most of the details are still a mystery; all that is known is that one survivor was successfully ejected and returned to Earth with the rest of the crew officially listed as missing. Taiyoh watches him covertly as Jay becomes frustrated with the lack of solid information, including the computer being unable to confirm the identity of the survivor beyond him being referred to as Junior - or 'J' for short. Jay is then interrupted when Taiyoh falls into the room. Outside the ceremony continues to go badly, with Ace getting booted off the mike due to his rambling, leading to Alice and Lin vying for the chance to sing to the audience - Miyajima being too crippled by stage fright to impose any sort of order. Below, Jay attacks Taiyoh but the cadet refuses to fight back and tries to talk some sense into him, telling him the Disasters are just using him. Word that Jay has found out about his past reaches the Disasters. Realising his brainwashing is breaking down, Colonel Hazard dispatches BL Drill Robo to retrieve him. His arrival causes tremors at the Space Agency, where Miyajima snaps into action, ordering the cadets to help the evacuation. Inside Taiyoh and Jay realise they both have the same instinct for danger and the pair try to escape as the building collapses.

Jay and Taiyoh find the girl from earlier, lost and crying, and both instinctively protect her from falling debris. Taiyoh sends his K-BOY to let the rest of the team know his situation and persuades Jay to use his to find updates on the situation. They soon find an air vent that might allow them to escape. Above, the girl's mother contacts the cadets about her missing child, just as Taiyoh, Jay and the girl - called Kazami - emerge from the building. However, before mother and daughter can be reunited BL Drill Robo and the BL Bulldozer Robo announce their presence. As Jet Robo arrives to face off against him BL Drill Robo requests Jay takes over his commands but he is distracted by Kazami's mother, who is in danger of falling down the wrecked structure. He remembers meeting Stealth Robo as a small child and calls out to him. Stealth Robo is still restrained at the Disasters' base but the thought of Jay in trouble gives him the strength to break free and he arrives at the Space Agency to confront BL Drill Robo, affirming his loyalty to his Robo Master alone. BL Drill Robo switches to Hyper Mode and Stealth Robo requests Jay give him the same command so he can defend him, promising that if he wins he will get Jay away from the Disasters. As they find, Taiyoh gets Kazami to safety and orders Jet to undergo EX Combination with the Space Robo present. He projects a ZONE around all three Machine Robo. Inside, Hyper Stealth Robo finds his weaponry is useless, having been disabled by the Disasters. Instead he restrains BL Drill Robo and begs Jet to shoot him. Outside, Taiyoh and Jay are able to get Hazami's mother to safety as Jet hesitates but eventually blasts the other two Machine Robo, causing the ZONE to retract. BL Drill Robo is lifted away by a Gura Gorro as the structure collapses further, taking Jay and Stealth Robo - still being attacked by the BL Bulldozer Robo - with it. The BL Bulldozer Robo turn out Stealth's Tank Robo as they fall into the sea in a fiery explosion, causing the devastated Taiyoh to collapse. A search later that evening fails to find either of them - though Taiyoh remains sure Jay is still alive.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • While the BL Machine Robo combinations are largely 'recolours' of the standard versions, BL Drill Robo's is notably less flamboyant than that of Drill Robo, notably omitting the big sumo-style foot-plant, though he still has wrestling-style body lanuage.
