Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]

  • Missile Tank Robo (1983)
    • ID number: MR-23
    • Accessories: 2 Ionoid Antitank Missiles
Missile Tank Robo was the 23rd figure in Bandai's Machine Robo Series and transforms from robot to M33[1] missile tank in 6 steps. The non-firing missiles can be mounted on the toy in either mode via shaped notches. Due to the use of ball-jointed metal connectors the figure has a range of articulation in the shoulders; however this is also a point of wear on many loose examples of the figure, while the ankles especially are prone to snapping. The shin stickers can also foul and wear during transformation to vehicle mode. Like the rest of the range, the figure retailed at ¥600.

Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]

  • Missiletank Robo (2017)
    • ID number: MR-08
    • Accessories: missiles (2), pistol, stand

The eighth figure in Action Toys' Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos series, Missile Tank Robo converts from robot to M33 missile tank. The figure, designed by Awaken Studios, features a mix of plastic and diecast. As a modern figure, Missile Tank features a wide range of articulation - and considerably better proportions than the original figure. In another upgrade, the missile mount can properly raise and turn - without exposing the robot mode chest either. As seems to be typical for the range, the extra pistol is of unknown inspiration; the missiles can clip to this to make a large hand-held weapon if so desired.

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

  1. Missile Tank Robo's instructions name his alternate tank mode as an M33, which was made up by Bandai for the figure.
