Combat Buggy (コンバットバギー) is a Machine Robo.

He is armed with Ionoid Gathered Missiles.

A childhood friend of Rod Drill in Dakota, Combat Buggy's father Bison became head of the village but was forced to find Hyribead by the Gyandlar captain Casmodon. As a result of the Gyandlar's manipulations, Dakota had a strong feud with nearby Konan but in defiance of his father Combat Buggy pursued a romance with Melodia, daughter of Konan's leader Dart. When Rom Stol, Leina Stol, Blue Jet and Triple Jim arrived in Dakota they are caught up in the machinations and imprisoned. However the late-arriving Rod was able to get Combat Buggy to see sense and free his friends. The group headed to the local mine and Combat Buggy lead an uprising against the Gyandlar troops, while his romance with Melodia united the settlements. Pledging Love on the Great River

He was later recruited by Rod Drill - along with Vilion and Missile Tank Robo - as reinforcements to help Rom, Jim and Canary assault the Sky Castle, where Leina had been taken by Grujios. However, the Gyandlar lieutenant was able to use power gifted to him by Gadess to summon up a fog that prevented the Battle Tribe troops from locating the fortress. Death in the Demonic Castle in the Sky Unable to locate their friends, the group instead drove to Elie, where they were finally able to agitate Pylon into taking action against Grujios himself. The Demonic Castle - Farewell Grujios Another Combat Buggy was among the militia at Cleo City; send by Nerve to attack Rod Drill, he was easily defeated. The Heart of a Protecting Angel

Combat Buggy later helped Rom's group escort a convoy of refugees to Emerald City and became one of the city's defenders. He later helped receive casualties from a neighbouring city after it was attacked by Gadess. After the Machine Robo left Cronos and passed a dimensional gateway they re-emerged as the citizens of the Algo Republic on Electronic Planet B-1 with no memory of their previous adventures; Combat Buggy became a member of the Silver Wolves team in the Algo Army. He was among the troops who scrambled along with Pro Truck Racer to investigate the arrival of the Good Luck when it landed on the planet. Burning Electronic Planet He and Bike Robo were manning cannon in the battle when they were bombed by Gurendos. Jet Riser! Scramble! Combat Buggy was later among the troops gathered by Rod Drill to attack the Gurendos Strongest Warrior - R.JeTan! He was later pretending to be busy with a clipboard in Crystal City when Sorikondar fired Garzack's Garfire-SP at a fuel facility, which it blew up. Stolen Garfire-SP Combat Buggy was part of the team led by Rod Drill to tackle a new Gurendos super-gun, though ultimately only the Winner Robo were able to evade security and destroy the weapon. Dangerous Grand Whale He was later trying to reason with Steam Robo when the latter was under the influence of one of Yasand's mind-control chips. Akira Amachi and Kempō Robo arrived to help, with Steam Robo punching the human in the face. Kempō Robo was able to get the chip off, much to Combat Buggy's joy. Drill Crusher's Wrath Combat Buggy was among the Silver Wolves who were part of a successful Algo Army attack on the Gurendos. Quickly, Gattai Saurer! He fought in the Algo Army's forest campaign during an attempt to stop a Gurendos offensive. Riser! Power Up! Combat Buggy was one of the Algo Army soldiers guarding their electromagnetic missiles but was unable to prevent Yasand from stealing them. The Stolen Secret Weapon When the Grand Whale came under the threat from Yasand, RIM ordered an evacuation. Combat Buggy tried to withdraw in New Shinkansen Robo but was forced to bail out when they came under attack, instead fighting street to street. The Flower of Hope Blooming on the Battlefield Following the Battle Hackers fetching a device to restore the casualties of the attack, he joined an Algo Army counter-attack that forced the Gurendos away from Crystal City. Combat Buggy was an oversized figure designed to interact with Machine Robo Series toys, and could convert from futuristic pickup to robot. In his vehicle mode any some figures could stand in his cockpit or in either mode on his rear bay, which also had hinging sides and a folding tailgate. The robot mode was relatively light and simple for a figure of its size, with only shoulder articulation. The missile launcher could either be mounted on the truck's cab or held in the robot's fists.

Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos[edit | edit source]

Combat Buggy was reissued for the Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos toyline in updated packaging. The figure was assigned to the Battle Tribe, and featured no changes from the original Japanese release.
