Rockgiran
Rockgiran (ロックギラン) is a creature from Cronos, linked to the culture of the Rock People.
It is 7.3 metres tall with an 8 metre wingspan, weights 7.3 tons and has a skin with a hardness level of 7, and can fire a Pressure Beam from its' eyes. Rockgiran has a primitive mindset and a long-standing rivalry with Rockdon, though it can be brought under control by Amber Man. The creature gets its' flight ability by eating gravity-repelling monopole space rocks.

Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos cartoon[edit | edit source]
Rockgiran's inert state was as a rock, hibernating under Cronos with Rockdon. Diondra discovered the latter while searching for the Hyribead, forcing the Battle Rock Java to awaken the creature in order to spare the people of his village. The beast was a match for both Kenryū and Baikanfu, and so Java gave his life to release Rockgiran, and the pair fought to a stalemate before returning to whence they came. Rockgiran versus Rockdon Amber Man later called both up to defend his fortress, ordering them to indiscriminately attack both the Machine Robo and Gyandlar until he was directly attacked by Diondra; his shock returned both to rock. Later Rom Stol was able to persuade Amber Man to join his troops at the Battle Base. Save Amber Man, Blazer Cannon! A system was made where they could be controlled from the Battle Base but unfortunately Grujios, in possession of Harley Robo, was able to activate them and cause chaos by releasing the pair to cover his attempt to steal the Dragon Helmet and Phoenix Armor. Land Commander 5 was just about able to keep Rockgiran busy long enough for a recovered Harley Robo to deactivate the creature Close Call, Land Commander 5! Rockgiran was later at the vanguard of the Machine Robo assault on the Gyandlar mothership Power Riser, Break Through the Enemy!; with Rockdon and Gattai Saurer they were able to breach the hull and lead the main body of the army into the ship. - The same figure was issued as the Rockasaur Terra-Roc in Rock Lords by Tonka, with no significant changes. It is unclear which version of the figure was released first.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Even within such a cheerfully odd series as Machine Robo: Battle Hackers, Rockgiran's sudden appearance as a massive verbose member of the Algo Army who's invulnerable to missiles and never, ever appears again is a particularly bizarre moment.
