The Devil Invader Series was an assortment of Machine Robo figures produced by Bandai. They were scaled in line with the Machine Robo Series figures and had the same ¥600 retail price. Three were issued in 1984 with two more following in 1985. Each was intended to represent a single type of Devil Invader, and kids could buy scores of the things should they so please to make massed armies of the Casmozone monsters.

All five of the figures were used by Tonka as Renegade Monster GoBots, and were reissued and repurposed as the Gyandlar Devils for the 1986 Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos toyline.

Each figure came in a small rectangular box, packed in robot mode. The packaging was of high quality, with a picture of the robot mode in portrait orientation on one side and the vehicle mode in landscape orientation on the other, featuring a polystyrene tray and lid inside the cardboard box, an instruction leaflet and a product catalogue.

Unreleased Figures[edit | edit source]

Numerous designs were considered for the range that went unreleased, and several made it to the prototype stage. A group of the latter toys were released as GoBots in the third series of Tonka's toyline and were never released in Japan. No planned Japanese names are known for the prototypes of Bugsie and Hornet, but Klaws appeared in a catalogue under the name Death Winner Gamma. The figures' Western releases were:

  • It has also been suggested that the Super GoBots version of Vamp was designed as some sort of "Big Devil Invader" planned range, though this is unconfirmed.
