Synopsis[edit | edit source]

Matt and Turbo chase down Geeper-Creeper, who had been sent to blow up a nearby power station. The Renegade escapes by transforming and lightly jogging away. Later Geeper-Creeper squabbles with Cy-Kill over the difficulty of his mission before Doctor Braxis suggests they use a song against the Guardians. Cy-Kill takes this onboard, suggesting using the Sirens of Wagner 11, whose songs are powerful enough to destroy circuitry. He rounds up the last few Sirens from their dying world, against their protests. Later at the Command Centre Matt and A.J. notice a strange ringing sound and then the test tubes they are using for experiments shatters. Turbo is able to get them back to base but the constant barrage of sonic attacks causes considerable damage. Matt and A.J. are able to survive in the complex's padded underground area and set to work modifying Turbo and Road Ranger. The attacks so far had just been the Sirens gathering after arriving on Earth; they begin to gather for their first serious group attack but the Guardians' circuits have been muffled while the humans wear sound absorbers. Turbo and Road Ranger try to provide a distraction for Matt and A.J. to put their plan into action while Cy-Kill directs the Sirens. The humans are able to use a device to beam the siren song back at the Renegades, who retreat. Spay-C takes them back to their own planet while A.J. tortures Matt with her terrible singing.

Notes[edit | edit source]

Continuity notes[edit | edit source]

  • The Mini World books take place in an odd micro-continuity that seems to mesh early scant Machine Robo elements (which were ported over for the early Robo Machine figures) and some parts of Challenge of the Gobots. The models are largely toy-based and the humans less whacky-looking.
  • Most notably AJ is an adult Caucasian; she and Matt work for the A.S.C..
  • Geeper-Creeper is only referred to as 'the jeep' and Road Ranger as 'the truck' or 'the lorry'.

Errors[edit | edit source]

Miscellaneous errors[edit | edit source]

  • Cy-Kill mentions the Sirens and then Doctor Braxis explains what they are to him.
  • Why exactly do the Sirens go with Braxis anyway? Why do they bother doing anything the Renegades want them to do?

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • An audio version was also produced by Tempo, issued on cassette in a gift set with a copy of the book.
  • As per usual with World, there are no credits, presumably part of the devil's bargain any of their staff undertook.
