Hoyt Curtin (Born September 9, 1922; died December 3, 2000) was an American composer.

While he composed some film scores - including for Ed Wood's infamous Plan 9 from Outer Space and merely incompetent and therefore less famous Jail Bait, he was mainly known for his long association with Hanna-Barbera, which began in 1957. As well as background music he composed many of the studio's most famous theme tunes, including those for The Flintstones, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Josie and the Pussycats and The Smurfs.

By the time he came to do the same for Challenge of the GoBots his career was winding down, which perhaps explains the theme's prosaic lyrics; he would retire in 1986.
