Talk:Baron Von Joy
Wouldn't it make more sense to just put the page under Baron Von Joy, as that was the toy's name and this is a Gobot Wiki, not a CotG Wiki? Professor is a working name/mistake/invention of H-B, and just putting this at plain "Von Joy" just means it's wrong for both. Carry-All (talk) 16:46, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- We went on a case by case basis back in the day, seeing which names were more used than the others. I think ultimately it's probably fine to move to Baron Von Joy, but for guys like Doctor Go/Herr Fiend who show up more regularly, we went with show names. Escargon (talk) 17:03, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- I guess it's not that clear-cut; I think the problem is I'm very much a big fan of the Gobots toyline and largely tolerate the fiction because it has Gobots in it, so my personal preference is always going to go with the toyline. But yes, for someone like Herr Fiend I can see the problem; that's my fault, I've got so used to calling the light blue Porsche Herr Fiend and the black one Doctor Go I forget it's something I made up in my head! Outstanding questions[edit source]
- Were there any releases in Australia before the Super Machine Men version? Seems very odd that 2/3 European releases of the DX figures predated the named versions and none in Australia.
- How was the gold Machine Men version packaged? Like the silver Crasher, the competition text just refers to it as Machine Men Porsche, be interested to know if it was boxed or just bagged or whatever.
