Machine Robo DX[edit | edit source]
- Leopard A4 (1983)
- ID number: MR-DX03
- Accessories: Short gun barrel, long gun barrel
- The fourth figure in Bandai's Machine Robo DX series, Leopard A4 converts from a Leopard A4 tank to robot, or to an intermediate tracked-robot mode. Unlike the other Machine Robo DX figures the toy was only available in a single colour scheme. The tank mode features rubber rolling caterpillar tracks and a turning. In robot mode the shorter of the gun barrel parts can mount on either of the robot's forearms thanks to a small peg. While detailed the toy's unconventional looks are further complicated by how fragile it is. The chest mechanism is partly spring-loaded and can jam, the shoulders, elbows and ankles/feet can work loose and the rubber tracks are prone to snapping, perishing, stretching, falling off and getting lost...
- The toy was issued as the Super GoBots figure Destroyer as part of GoBots.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- The individual Machine Robo DX figures lacked the "Robo" suffix of other Machine Robo figures and did not feature in any of the line's fiction. This combined with their more adult-orientated packaging suggests they were intended simply as Machine Robo puzzle toys or models as opposed to part of the early Romulos/Devil Invader mythos.
