City Turbo II Robo was on the ground in a futuristic city when a giant monster from the Casmozone appeared above, unleashing an army of Casmodon, Zarios and Falgos monsters. He converted to robot mode and called up the P4 Power Suit. Initially the Devil Invaders threatened to stop him combining with the rest of the Battle Suit before covering fire from Limousine Robo in P3 allowed him to move into position, completing Battle Armor 5. The giant robot then vanquished the malevolent entity. Battle Armor 5

- City Turbo II Robo (Vehicle, 1985)
Despite his prominent appearance in the lavish Battle Armor 5 short, City Turbo II Robo was never made as a toy. Some design sketches were featured in the Machine Robo Wedge book but no prototype has surfaced, and the figure might not have made it that far before being abandoned; it is not even known what the colour scheme would have been. The figure would have been part of the Machine Robo Series range. The toy appears to have had an interesting transformation, with the robot mode folding up in half to make a compact vehicle mode. It is not known why the toy was not released; however, assuming City Turbo II Robo would have been released around the same time as his co-stars in the short (around MR-45 to MR-49) coincides with a point where the line moved more towards jets, so it may have been as simple as another road car being passed over. The Machine Robo Series would only last another five releases before ending in early 1986, making it possible that any problems with the toy simply weren't worth resolving.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- In the tradition of transforming robot toylines of the period the Honda City guy was a bit obscure.
- Presumably the animation sheets were sent to Ashi Productions and used as a crowd filler for the field in the Devil's Island race.
- Enterprising customisers might find Mark's Honda City Robo Car figure - issued in America as the Convertors Mini Bot City by Select - as a starting point for a kitbash. Unless Action Toys want to step up to the plate...
