Chogokin
From GoBots Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to searchChogokin was a toyline started by Popy in 1974, releasing diecast & ABS plastic robot toys licensed from popular Japanese cartoon and live action fantasy series. The line continued under Bandai in 1983, though releases wound down not long afterwards. A selection of the figures from the line made up the bulk of the American Shogun Warriors and GoDaiKin lines. The Chogokin brand has been periodically revived and the name of the line has become short-hand for high-quality toy robots; as such it inspired the collector-orientated Soul of Chogokin line.
While the line had no direct relationship with Machine Robo, through Bandai's ownership of the moulds several came out under related franchises: -
- GB-09 DX Gardian - retooled as Baikanfu in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos
- GC-13 DX Biorobo - released as Bio Robo in Robo Machine
- GC-20 DX Vavilos - released as Vavilos in Robo Machine
- GC-23 DX Bismark - released as Bismarck in Robo Machine
- GC-30 DX Dancougar - released as Dancougar in Robo Machine
