Yamato
Yamato is/was a Japanese toy company who produce licenced figures of various descriptions. They are a low-volume manufacturer and as such their products are expensive, though due to their success in the field not quite as high-priced as many second party manufacturers. They mainly release figures in ABS and PVC, and have received particular acclaim for their Macross merchandise. In 2012 the Japanese arm folded before being reborn as Arcadia; however, an American subsidiary set up still uses the Yamato name.
Their GNU-Dou line consisted of licenced versions of characters from Japanese mecha shows, typically cartoons. The range does not make any attempt to mimic any transforming or combining features of the original figures, instead focusing on articulation and show accuracy, together with relative affordability.
