Machine Robo Rescue rush to solve the mystery of Stealth Robo before Jay can unlock its' full power.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
At the Disasters' Hell Island base, Jay is chewed out by his commander about his defeat against Red Wings. He claims he needs more power to combat the Machine Robo Rescue Hyper Modes. At Rescue Headquarters Machine Robo Rescue cadets are trying to find out more about Stealth Robo, and Jet Robo admits his scans reveal there is some similarity between the MRR Machine Robo and the Disaster. Attempts to identify Jay have been similarly difficult, as Taiyoh is the only person to have met him and his drawing of Jay is awful. Instead they request use of the Machine AI Laboratory's main computer. Chief Bitou agrees, but is clearly troubled by something. Lin and a reluctant Taiyoh set off to the Center on their day off by train; he doesn't even know what the Center is. Thankfully for Lin's patience an elementary school excursion - including Jun Mizushima - is also onboard, and he annoys them instead until the class teacher yells at him in a terrifying fashion. They arrive at the Center - as do Jay and Stealth Robo. Taiyoh gets told off once more for disrupting the school trip while looking at early Machine Robo with Jun and thinks he then spots Jay sneaking inside. He's not sure though, and soon goes with an officer sent to meet them. However, Jay is inside and disables a guard robot as he heads into a secure area of the facility. When Taiyoh spots the malfunctioning robot he instead misinterprets its' actions as challenging him to a fight. Lin and the officer leave him to it as Jay sneaks further inside the Research Center. Hiding from Lin and the officer he bumps into Jun, who has wandered off from his group and got lost. Jay tries to hack into the main computers but is unexpectedly restrained by Jun, who he tells to clear off. He's then able to piggyback Lin's use of the main computer, and contacts Stealth Robo to attack so he can escape during the chaos. An emergency is declared as his blasts rock the Center, and the rest of Red Wings head into action. Lin meanwhile spots Jay when he has another run-in with the guard robot, and strikes a fighting pose.
Jay easily evades Lin's attacks and is able to knock her into a wall when Jun distracts her, causing a small explosion from a damaged door control. Meanwhile Taiyoh is helping to evacuate the building - with Jun's teacher telling him the boy is missing; he calls Lin's K-BOY but she is busy with Jay, who she realises is the Robo Master of Stealth Robo. Lin tries to call him out, but he is bewildered by the very idea of 'parents'. Just then the rest of Red Wings arrive outside, and Stealth Robo cloaks. Ace completely misreads the room and asks Taiyoh about his "date" with Lin; Taiyoh is about to attack when he senses Stealth Robo but is unable to warn Fire Robo before he's blasted. Jet Robo steps forward to fight the threat, telling the Fire Team to see to the burning Research Center, with Taiyoh activating his Hyper Mode. Inside Lin tries to protect Jun from the smoke, and is too weak to stop Jay - who is startled by the pair's efforts to keep each other safe before breaching the main computer room. In a hidden safe he finds a purple K-BOY marked MR-X. Activating it causes numerous events around the Rescue Headquarters island, including volcanic activity and a loss of underwater cables as Stealth Robo's long-hidden Supporter Robo are activated. Chief Bitou recognises them as Tank Robo, and tells the instructors that the Machine Robo technology was originally planned for the military before it became rescue technology, and Stealth Robo was the original prototype. Jay activates Hyper Stealth Robo, and Chief Bitou orders Blue Sirens and Yellow Gears to head towards the Research Center to help. Hyper Jet Robo is no match for Hyper Stealth Robo and is about to be destroyed when Police Robo and Drill Robo arrive. With their objective complete however Hyper Stealth Robo and Jay decide to leave before further reinforcements arrive. Chief Bitou overrides plans to chase the Disasters as he feels MRR need to strengthen first. Back at the Center, Sayuri and Alice find Lin and Jun on a rooftop - having been carried to safety by Jay during the battle.

Quotes[edit | edit source]
"The terrible thing is the worst possible person is the only witness to this!"
- —Lin decries Taiyoh's sketch of Jay.
Notes[edit | edit source]
Continuity notes[edit | edit source]
- Brad Bitou plays the piano.
- Taiyoh and Jet Robo saved Jun Mizushima back in the first episode.
- Older Machine Robo designs are on display at the Research Center; sadly the animators don't go homage-happy and throw in vintage designs, instead just using some generics.
- Gadgets and Powers:
- Jay has a device that renders him invisible to security cameras.
- Hyper Stealth Robo can launch the Blast Tempest attack, a huge barrage of missiles.
- Police Robo and Drill Robo can fly in their vehicle modes.
Continuity and plotting errors[edit | edit source]
- After grabbing him and covering his mouth when Lin and the officer pass, Jay immediately forgets about Jun and then announces his plans to hack into the computers and destroy the Machine Robo in front of the boy for no reason; his lips move, so it's not narration and lacks the echo present when Lin's 'thinking' in the following scene. Luckily for him Jun is such a quivering wimp he completely misses this and just whines again about being lost.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Footage from "Look Out! Combination EX" - the previous appearance of Jay and Stealth Robo - is played on the monitor at the start.
- After being hyper and a bit OTT up to now Taiyoh goes to Akira Amachi-level ADHD here, behaving worse than the elementary school children, ignoring sighting Jay due to the appearance of the robot guide and attempting to physically attack a guard robot.
