Talk:Go-Bots issue 2
There's a few problem with the synopsis. Based solely on the preview, it seems Nick is mistakenly written in place of Matt, for some scenes scenes at least.
Are we sure that that is Crasher breaking the dam? Silhouette wise it looks much more like Tank. The chest detail are a match too, and being a black silhouette seems to match up better with Tank's blue colour scheme as opposed to Crasher's white. I don't see anything to indicate Crasher's seismic abilities being used as per the notes either.
In the fourth paragraph of the synopsis, there's a word missing in the following part. "...towards a half-constructed—and...". A half-constructed what?
Also, two things I noticed which might be worth mentioning in the notes.
Is that Bug Bite in the diner? He's got a little Bumblebee head inside his classic windshield head. Cute! I'd add it to the trivia myself but I'm unsure if it's actually supposed to be Bug Bite of if it's a generic with the same body, a la the Hans-Cuffs generics.
Is Screw Head meant to be tunneling in the opening panels? He's a drill tank. Drill tanks can't actually tunnel, as the drill bit would need to be either the same size as the vehicle itself of bigger. Ravenge (talk) 13:28, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Cuts & changes[edit source]
- There is no point in noting either generics or multiples. With generics there are scores of them and they largely do nothing, so there's no point in singling one or two out. With multiples there's very, very little to show that basically anyone outside of Leader-1, Cy-Kill, Turbo, Scooter, Spay-C and Road Ranger are the same guys. Is the Bug Bite who becomes one of Road Ranger's team the same one butchering diners? No idea, never likely to be confirmed. Noting multiples is opening a can of worms.
- I can't see either of them
- * The original GoBots cartoon depicted the characters as extraterrestrial cyborgs, incorporating organic brains into robotic bodies; while this comic runs with the concept of them being human-built machines, there's some ambiguity in the final battle between Leader-1 and Cy-Kill; in addition to depicting Leader-1 bleeding what appears to be red blood when kicked by Cy-Kill, he sports a very organic looking set of teeth and a tongue, and both possess what appears to be a strange, fleshy-looking face beneath their mechanical exteriors. Is this merely a nod to the cartoon, or some foreshadowing regarding the true origins of the Go-Bots? We will have to wait and see...
Some tenuous references:
- Cy-Kill orders his soldiers to dispose of Leader-1's "iron hide"
Cy-Kill's odd pronunciation of "human" as "hu-man" may be a nod to the stilted dialogue of the character Ro-Man from the cult B-movie Robot Monster. That's going to need a citation from Scioli because it's not a common reference and just as likely to be Cy-Kill mocking "Go-Bot".
Zoo liberator?[edit source]
Huh, I always thought it was Good Knight rather than Spoiler letting out the zoo animals, with the distinctive blue chest, and because he was shown with Cy-Kill's troops in issue 1. Interested to hear what others think. Carry-All (talk) 00:52, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
Rube & Zig-Zag[edit source]
I cannot see them. There are a few generic cars with Cy-Kill when he charges into town, and there's head-hood guy, but none of them really have any resemblance.
