Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Rom and Leina travel to planet Ursus with Blue Jet, Rod Drill and Triple Jim after finding it has been devastated in a war orchestrated by the evil dark magician Baltun. Baltun summons Gru, Dio and Devi to attack them, and Devi soon restraints Drill and Rom. After a struggle Velt Zaruk appears, having been brought back to life by Baltun and captured Leina. Rom gives Zaruk the Wolf Sword in return for her life. With access to its' powers Zaruk trounces Rom before aiming the blade at Leina; Rom throws himself in its' path to save her and is gravely wounded. Jet attempts to use his sword but has no success, while Baltun orders Gru to finish Rom off with a flood of lava.
A dying Rom tells Leina she is not really his sister but was found by Kirai on a visit to Ursus - where he defeated Baltun - and adopted. As Rom dies he vanishes and turns into energy beams that move Leina out of the way of the lava. Meanwhile Drill, Jet and Jim have all been captured and tortured by Baltun, who throws away the Wolf Sword after absorbing its' power. A devastated Leina meanwhile is tormented by visions of Tide Tyrant until Rom's spirit visits her and inspires her to rescue their friends. She is able to recharge the Wolf Sword and free Jet, Drill and Jim. Leina tells them of Rom's death and the group sets out to avenge him. Baltun takes on a new huge form in response – a corrupted version of Baikanfu – and Leina responds by calling forth Rom's armour. Drill meanwhile kills Devi, Jim destroys Dio and Jet finishes Gru before Leina slices open the false Baikanfu. In a final gambit, Baltun tricks Leina into thinking Rom has come back to life but she is able to see through the illusion and kills the sorcerer with the Wolf Sword. The ghosts of Rom and Guardi then appear to her and Leina realises they will always be with her through the Wolf Symbol as Ursus is renewed.

(characters in italics are only present in flashback and/or dream scenes.)
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Dio is the reincarnated form of Diondra, Gru that of Grujios and Devi that of Devil Satan 6.
- Baltun is voiced by Tesshō Genda, who dubbed Convoy in the Japanese import of the Transformers cartoon and later retained the role for later appearances of the character. So Optimus Prime kills Baikanfu, which is a little on the nose.
Music[edit | edit source]
- The end music is "Eien no Lullaby", performed by Maiko Hashimoto. There isn't an opening theme; the start titles are short and feature narration over instrumental music composed by Michiaki Watanabe. "Ai no Senshi", also by Hashimoto, and "Omoi" by Yuko Mizutani (the voice of Leina Stol) feature as insert songs.
