Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]
- Gyro Robo (1982)
- ID number: MR-04
- Accessories: Ionoid Steel Rotor, Asteroid Chopper
- Gyro Robo was the 4th figure in Bandai's Machine Robo Series and transforms from robot to futuristic helicopter in 5 steps. As a side-effect of the figure's conversion it has good articulation in the shoulders. Sadly due to the stress the weight of the diecast upper cockpit (i.e. the white painted bit) puts on the robot mode loose Gyro Robo are often hard to stand up due to being overbalanced. The main Ionoid Steel Rotor can be held in either hand as a weapon. The smaller Asteroid Chopper Rotor has nowhere to go in robot mode; between this and the accessory's small size it is often lost.
- Bandai reissued Gyro Robo in updated packaging when they took over the line in 1983.
- From 1986 onwards Gyro Robo was repackaged on a blister card. The figure itself was unchanged.
- The figure was later issued as the GoBots figure Cop-Tur, with no changes aside from the omission of the additional sticker sheet
