Gum Tresor
Gum Tresor was a line of candy toys produced in France by May Bonneuil. They often produced merchandise licenced from popular cartoons and comics, including Astro Boy, Lucky Luke and Ulysses 31; sets would include gumballs and a plastic toy. In 1986 the company extended its' portfolio to Le Defi des GoBots, the popular French dub of Challenge of the GoBots, producing a series of four Tresor Gum sets based on characters from the series. The figures could transform, and came with a clutch of seven flavoured gumballs. The toys were modelled very much on the main line figures for each character, with the exception of Leader-1, who more closely resembled the Eagle Robo gashapon model kit. While resembling model kits they came assembled.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- Why Turbo is named Turbo instead of Proto, the name given to the character in the cartoon dub, is unknown.
- It is not 100% clear whether the toys were licensed, given that they look like knock-offs both in terms of the figures and the packaging. However, May Bonneuil generally seem to have dealt from a straight pack.
