Synopsis[edit | edit source]
After hearing from Garudi that the Hyribead doesn't even seem to be in Emerald City, Gadess bombards the city and razes most of the buildings to draw out Rom Stol and his allies, who are assessing the damage. This achieved he dispatches Diondra to attack them with aerial limpet mines, causing heavy casualties before the devices are destroyed by Land Commander 5 and a squad of Battle Rock with Mecha Rock and Guts Rock. The Gyandlar continue to strafe the survivors, before Diondra then leads the Gyandlar Devils and Devil Satan 6 in to attack on the ground, battling Rom before an earthquake hits the ruined city. Diondra and Tough Trailer fall into a chasm, along with the Wolf Sword; both survive the fall but attract one of the mines. Above ground the battle has turned into a stalemate as each side ponders what to do about their lost comrades, with Rod Drill setting out to look for Tough Trailer. Conversely, Gadess doesn't care about Diondra falling down and instead orders the Gyandlar forces to press home the attack while the enemy is distracted - much to Garudi's amusement, preventing any of the other Machine Robo from helping, and with Rom bereft of the Wolf Sword.
Underground Diondra and Tough Trailer are forced to work together due to the mine and begin a dangerous escape tethered to each other while avoiding falling rocks from the battle above. Under the Gyandlar assault Rom and the other survivors are forced to fight back and place their trust in Drill. Their comrade is nearly crushed himself, but saved by a mysterious stranger. Back on the surface Leina gets separated and is captured by the Gyandlar, with Phantom Robo getting killed trying to stop them. Tough Trailer decides to sacrifice the Wolf Sword in order to save Diondra; they are both then saved from a further rockfall by the stranger - Tough Trailer's massive brother, Pro Truck Racer, who headed back to Emerald City when he heard there might be danger there. Drill is able to disarm the mine but as soon as Diondra is free she escapes. Tough Trailer is more concerned about the Wolf Sword; Rom manages to call the sword back up to the surface and form Baikanfu in time to battle Devil Satan 6. Diondra has also arrived back on the surface and purposefully claims Leina is not Rom's sister and she should be let go – her way of repaying her debt to Tough Trailer. The Gyandlar retreat as Drill, Pro Truck Racer and Tough Trailer also return above ground but are caught up in a storm with Leina as Baikanfu watches helplessly.
