Stealth Robo is rebuilt as a rescue Machine Robo, but Jay is not as easy to reconfigure.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
At the Machine AI Laboratory, Jay is impatient to see Stealth Robo, who is in the midst of upgrades from Professor Suidōbashi. At Rescue Headquarters, the Machine Robo argue over which team the new recruits will join - Drill Robo believes they should join Yellow Gears to make up for their lack of flying members, while Gyro Robo doesn't want them on Blue Sirens. Fire Robo diplomatically suggests they would be an asset for any of the teams. Jay is assigned to train with Red Wings, but he aggravates Ace by repeatedly refusing to salute him correctly, and Lin has to break them up before punches are thrown. Jay struggles to see the point of the tedious training, leading to Ace and Taiyoh explaining that teamwork and timing are both crucial to their rescue work. Ace believes Taiyoh is going too easy on Jay, and Jay attacks Ace again for criticising Taiyoh. That night Lin bemoans their squabbling to Alice and Sayuri - making Alice worry as Jay is due to train with Blue Sirens the next day. Ace and Makoto are still unimpressed by Jay, with Ace further annoyed when Jay uses half of his hair conditioner. The following day Jay is fine on the physical part of Makoto's drills but infuriates him with a lack of road sign recognition and not knowing what traffic lights are. Training with Yellow Gears is less strenuous as it consists of meditating, though Shō and Ken are worried by Jay's apparent inability to smile - even after Shō cracks one of the worst jokes of all time. Instead he walks off, again declaring the training pointless. Later that night Daichi is sympathetic, pointing out that Jay didn't have anyone to teach him anything normal. The girls agree, and they all nominate Makoto - as the most sensible person in the organisation - as his teacher. The three instructors are also worried about what to do with Jay, and relieved that Chief Bitou is away so a decision can be put off, and wholeheartedly approve of Makoto taking Jay out for a fun day in society. The Chief is visiting Professor Suidōbashi at the AI Laboratory, where the conversion of Stealth Robo to rescue work is continuing. Blue Sirens then take Jay into Tokyo, teaching him how to cross roads, use a train ticket terminal and act correctly around heavily pregnant women. However, the Disasters sabotage the train they are on, causing it to stop in the middle of a bridge - injuring the mother-to-be.
Swiftly taking command, Makoto sends Tsuyoshi to inform the conductor and Alice to check for other injuries, while he and Susumu head to see the driver, leaving Jay to take care of the lady. Makoto is making enquiries from the cab when he sees Jay sprint past carrying the poor woman to a hospital - just as a Gura Gorro emerges from the river below and spots him. Colonel Hazard orders it to open fire, blasting a hole in the bridge and separating him from the Blue Sirens. The Gura Gorro swipes at Jay - but is stopped by something invisible. It is the newly upgraded Stealth Robo or, as he now likes to be called, V Stealth Robo. With Taiyoh coaching him over the radio, Jay orders V Stealth Robo to activate a ZONE to prevent further damage, and carries on running. Ace tells him there's an ambulance on standby near the bridge. Jay leaps down to the bemused medic and rides in the ambulance, where she begs him to pass on a message to her child if she doesn't make it; in response, he frantically pleads with her to stay strong. He gets her to the hospital and returns to the bridge, where V Stealth Robo is struggling against the upgraded super-fast Gura Gorro. Professor Suidōbashi contacts Jay and tells him to try V Stealth Robo's rescue combination; as there are no Supporter Robo for V Stealth Robo he is confused but does it anyway. V Stealth Robo combines with his Power Wing and Radar Booster to form Hyper V Stealth Robo. With help from Jay, he realises that part of the reason for the Gura Gorro's apparent speed is that there are two of them in the ZONE working together, and he defeats them. Everyone cheers as Jay reports the rescue complete, with Ace even noting that his salute has improved. Crisis averted, he and Blue Sirens head back to the hospital, where a nurse tells them both the mother and son are fine. Meanwhile Kaiser-G tells Colonel Hazard that the Disasters will have to activate the 'next step' of their strategy. Back on Earth, Jay finally smiles as he meets the baby and shows V Stealth Robo what they're working to protect now.

"Stop it, you pathetic man! You can't rush nature's magic!"
- —Alice after belting Makoto while they wait for news on the baby.
Notes[edit | edit source]
Continuity notes[edit | edit source]
- Jay fails to recognise a 'Stop' sign even though it has 'Stop' written on it. Though it's possible he's doing it on purpose to annoy Makoto.
- He also eats an orange whole, complete with skin.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Throughout the episode Ken carries one of those fans Suidōbashi's robots use to spank everyone. Best not to dwell on that.
