The 2000s continued the dearth of GoBots, though Machine Robo was revived partway through the decade.

- Banpresto released Super Robot Wars Compact 2 Part 2: Cosmoquake and Super Robot Wars Compact 2 Part 3: Galaxy Showdown for the Wonderswan on September 14.
- Bernard Erhard, voice of Cy-Kill from Challenge of the GoBots, died on November 1, aged 66.

Machine Robo enjoyed a brief revival as a series of gashapon figures.

- Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos was issued on DVD by Pioneer in Japan on 8th June.

- Lewis Arquette, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on February 10, aged 65.
- Norma MacMillan, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on March 16, aged 79.
- Foster Brooks, voice of Stoneheart and the Fossil Lord in GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords, died on December 20, aged 89.

- Banpresto released Super Robot Wars Impact for the PlayStation 2 on March 28.
- Hasbro reinforced their rights to the GoBots trademarks acquired in 1991 by producing a preschool range of Transformers named Go-Bots through their Playskool brand, while the name Leader-1 was used for a Transformers: Armada Mini-Con. Beyond the reuse of the names the products had no relation to GoBots.

Bandai fully revived the Machine Robo brand with the Machine Robo Rescue line, which reimagined several of the series' characters as mechs working with a team of young human pilots to prevent disasters.
On December 27, Bandai launched Machine Robo Mugenbine, taking the brand in a completely different direction.

A complete range of new toys were produced.
Cartoon[edit | edit source]
A 53-episode animated series made by Sunrise began broadcasting in Japan on January 8, 2003.

- Central Park Media released the first two volumes of Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos on DVD.
- Les Tremayne, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on December 19, aged 90.

- Takara partner E-HOBBY released the G1 GoBots multi-pack, which consisted of six random Minibot recolours that were tenuously claimed to be new versions of Small Foot, Road Ranger, Path Finder, Treds, Bad Boy and Bug Bite, though ultimately the names were omitted from the released toys.
- Sidney Miller, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on January 10, aged 87.
- Banpresto released Super Robot Wars MX for the PlayStation 2 on May 27.
- Manu Tupou, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on June 5, aged 69.
- Central Park Media released their third (and final) volume of Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos on DVD on June 8.
- Mario Capaldi, who provided art for the first six episodes of The Robo Machines comic strip, died.

- Steve Susskind, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on January 5, aged 63.
- Henry Corden, who provided undetermined voices for Challenge of the GoBots, died on May 19, aged 85.
- Brock Peters, voice of General Newcastle from Challenge of the GoBots, died on August 23, aged 78.
- Machine Robo Wedge was published in Japan in October.

- MegaHouse released a figurine of Leina Stol in their Excellent Model Core line.

- Bandai released an updated version of Baikanfu in their Soul of Chogokin line.
- Ashi Productions changed their name to Production Reed.

- Allan Melvin, voice of Sentinel and Murchison in Challenge of the GoBots, died on January 17, aged 84.
- Yamato issued a figure of Kenryū in their GNU-Dou range.

- Central Park, American licensee for Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos, go out of business.
