Machine Robo: Battle Hackers[edit | edit source]

  • Thunderer (1988)
    • Accessories: Stack Gun (2), Trailer
Thunderer was released in Bandai's Machine Robo: Battle Hackers toyline in 1988, and converts from robot to Peterbilt 352H truck, with an additional car carrier trailer. The figure is a recolour of Big Trailer Robo, and the trailer can carry up to five Winner Robo. While Thunderer has good articulation at the shoulders and elbows all these parts can sadly work loose over time. The Stack Guns and an area of the chest were made out of phosphorescent plastic and thus could glow in the dark, while the toy's sticker sheet references Pronite. Thunderer was available exclusively by mail order through the "Thunder Mission Present Campaign" launched in March 1988, right at the tail end of the Battle Hackers line - and therefore Machine Robo full-stop. As such, it is probably cheaper to buy a real Peterbilt truck than Thunderer.
  • Thunderer was not released outside of Japan, though the mould was the same as that used for the GoBots figure Staks.
