Cuts & changes[edit source]

"* Professor Braxis was last seen back in issue #1. His fate was left ambiguous, but evidently he survived his encounter with Scooter." Braxis was in #2, and any ambiguity would have been the product of an overactive imagination anyway.

"* Courageous was one of the big centerpiece toys from the original GoBots line, a combining team of "power suits" that could accommodate smaller GoBot toys. The Scioli series reimagines the character as a deity. Each individual powerssuit possessed their own ability; this isn't touched on in the comic, though Blaster does note that the armor he dons makes him feel smarter and stronger, and two of the powers from the original toyline were enhanced strength and telepathy.

intended to be the centerpiece of Tonka's spinoff Rock Lords line, the playset was shelved indefinitely, but not before putting in an appearance in Battle of the Rock Lords.
  • Though he doesn't appear in the issue, Boulder namedrops Magmar as the 'bot responsible for hiding the Lazer Lance; leader of the evil Rock Lords, Magmar was notable for teaming up with Cy-Kill in the Rock Lords movie."

Irrelevant to the issue.

  • Braxis' appearance-specifically his face-is based on the demonic form of Anton Arcane, enemy of DC Comics character Swamp Thing.

Again, a reach like that is going to need a citation.

"* Cop-Tur's Starscream-ish proclamation that he'll lead the Renegades after Cy-Kill is incapacitated can be perceived as a bit odd, as he was one of the more loyal Renegades. It does however match the character's original bio produced by Tonka that, while ultimately discarded from the toy's packaging, saw publication in the Battle for GoBotron storybook. The role of ambitious Renegade schemer was subsequently filled by Zero in the cartoon universe."

Serious over-reading

I don't doubt that the Braxis thing could be true, given Scioli's background. Here's an image for ref: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/7/7b/Anton_Arcane_01.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20200803141214. Escargon (talk) 11:54, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

No worries, just feel like we could do with citations on some of it, it's difficult to pick the comics pages apart as some of them seems to be very well researched and likely and others read like TV Tropes stuff. Planet of the Apes, hard to argue with, random B-movie pronunciations not so much.

Also do generally feel that extended talk about what, say, Courageous or the Command Center are in the toylines etc. is unhelpful as they have their own pages; as I say from reading comic articles at TFWiki this seems incongruous. =) Carry-All (talk) 12:32, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

I think with GoBots and how obscure it is compared to say, TF, a bit of explanation is probably a bit more warranted. Just some tips in general: I do think that notes about Vamp and Spay-C and the others probably do warrant a bit of mention, if only because some people are more familiar with the COTG series than the toyline stuff; and variant cover artists and the like are good to go on this wiki.
