A crook robs Banana Bank and is chased by the police as he escapes along the city expressway. Meanwhile at the Machine Robo Rescue dormitory the cadets are eating, though Makoto Aikawa is transfixed with footage of the robbery. They are disturbed when Taiyoh Ohzora's K-BOY announces a fire has broken out at the Coastal Complex. As Taiyoh dallies finishing his food, a delighted Satoko Oigawa shows him a shortcut through a laundry chute. However, as he neglects to actually ask for directions before diving in he and Bone rapidly become lost, only to appear directly above Musashi Miyajima in the launch bay, beating everyone else there but flattening the instructor in the process. The angry instructor reveals the alert was just a drill, and chews everyone out for being too slow before assigning extra field training - though Marie Bitou is impressed with Taiyoh's discovery of the shortcut. Back at the chase, the robber is aggressively fending off the police cars and it seems only a matter of time until an accident occurs. Makoto criticises Taiyoh's reliance on luck and intuition, causing the Red Wings cadet to attack him - only for Makoto to effortlessly thrown him onto the ground - much to the amusement of the Utada twins. However, when the other cadets begin chatting a furious Makoto bawls them out, making Alice Beckham cry - and causing the rest of the cadets to lecture Makoto. Arias Honoh attempts to coax a smile out of Alice - before she reveals she was acting all along, and further annoying Makoto. Musashi finally interjects, sending Taiyoh and Makoto off on cleaning duty for fighting. Makoto takes responsibility and offers to do the work alone. As he does so the Machine Robo joke that Police Robo might have finally found someone as upstanding as himself, though he is disappointed that Makoto lost his cool. On the road, the robber's dangerous driving causes a tanker truck to jack-knife, crash into a bridge and catch fire. This triggers a pile-up that destroys several cars, including the pursuing police cruisers. Machine Robo Rescue are alerted, and Blue Sirens scramble, with Police Robo, the Bike Robo Supporter Robo, Makoto, the Utada twins and Alice launching in the Siren Galley. Alice pilots the transporter into action.

Red Wings and Yellow Gears join Chief Bitou and the instructors in the command centre as the Blue Sirens arrive at the crash and deploy. The cautious Makoto orders Alice to sent her K-BOY in to scan the crash so the quickest, safest way of moving the wreckage to reach victims can be found. With the truck driver still trapped, Koshiro Sasaki tells the team to focus on getting the debris out of the way while the firefighters work on the blaze. Makoto and Police Robo head towards the stranded driver while Alice leads the Bike Robo to clear other wreckage. From a distance Jay watches as events unfold, sending in a Gura Gorro to disrupt the Machine Robo Rescue efforts. Back at the base Arias detects its' approach. Koshiro Sasaki relays the information to Makoto, authorising him to execute a ZONE, though he argues the delay could be fatal for the trapped driver. He decides to stay and help while Police Robo enters the Zone to contain the Gura Gorro, while Alice and the twins begin evacuating stranded motorists with help from the Bike Robo. Inside the ZONE, Police Robo attempts to reason with the chaingun-toting Disaster, with little success. Outside Makoto takes two of the Bike Robo to free the driver, with Alice using her K-BOY to confirm the man's position. They find the driver alive and well, having been saved by the robber, who dragged him out of the fire. Makoto keeps his calm and activates the Hyper Mode combination for Police Robo. After the combination Hyper Police Robo easily tears the Gura Gorro's gun arm off before binding him in police tape, forcing the Disaster to retreat back to Jay - who once again teleports away unnoticed. As the crash victims are taken to medical attention Machine Robo Rescue celebrate a successful operation. Despite this, Makoto has to return to his cleaning punishment - however, this time Taiyoh insists on joining him, though the pair settle into a squabble anyway - much to the bemusement of the rest of Blue Sirens.

Continuity notes[edit | edit source]

  • Ken Minami was brought up overseas but has a Japanese mother. His femininity is roundly mocked by Lin Haruka.
  • Lin also watched Alice Beckham performing in a play before they joined Machine Robo Rescue.
  • Like Wing Liner in the previous episode Siren Galley debuts, but only as a vehicle.
  • Gadgets and Powers:
    • Police Robo can fire police tape. Police tape strong enough to restrain a Gura Gorro, no less. He also has a Backfire attack that seems to involve channelling energy through the exhausts of the arm-configuration Bike Robo.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The robber's getaway car is based on a Datsun 260 Fairlady-Z, the same car used for the alternate mode of Zeemon and his Japanese predecessor.
