Challenge of the GoBots cartoon[edit | edit source]

"It didn't look anything like that last episode..."

The Last Engineer originally built the Spaceship Courageous as a workshop on GoBotron before he went into suspended animation. When he was revived he found the planet under Renegade control; nevertheless a few Guardians remained free. The Last Engineer helped them retrieve the Disassembled parts of their commander Leader-1 and rebuilt the Guardian at his workshop - moments before they were discovered by Renegades. He then converted his workshop to a spaceship, taking himself, Leader-1, Small Foot, Matt Hunter, A.J. Foster and Nick Burns past the Renegades standing guard on the planet's surface and, with help from Turbo meddling with the chasing Thrusters, was able to escape to Earth. There the Last Engineer went to work at a UNECOM base to build Power Suits to combat the Renegades.Flight to Earth Leader-1, Turbo, Small Foot and Scooter then took the Power Suits into battle against Roguestar but the Guardians soon found they were still outmatched. A.J. sent an SOS back to Earth and the Last Engineer answered in a heavily-modified Courageous, which combined with the four Power Suits to form the huge Power Warrior, which soon inflicted heavy losses on the Renegade Thruster fleet and proved impervious to return fire, forcing Cy-Kill to withdraw Roguestar and end the occupation of GoBotron.Return to GoBotron

GoBots[edit | edit source]

Spaceship[edit | edit source]

Guardian version
  • Spaceship (Power Suits, 1984)
    • Guardian Armored Spaceship
    • Accessories: Fist (2), Rocket Pod Foot (2), Blaster stock, Blaster barrel, small Blasters (2)
The boxed Spaceship was released by Tonka in the second series of GoBots, and was a recolour of the central module of Battle Armor 5 from the Machine Robo line with a new blue/red/white colour scheme. The craft can convert into the torso and thighs of Courageous. When in spaceship mode the fists can be placed in compartments in the back of the Rocket Pod Feet, which can in turn be slung under the wings thanks to small rails, while the craft has retractable undercarriage. The missile launchers on the outside of the feet were disabled for the American release, and the Courageous colour scheme was exclusive to the North American market. It is one of the few GoBots toys to feature the Guardian faction insignia.

Power Warrior[edit | edit source]

  • Courageous (GoBot, 1984)
    • Guardian Armored Robot
    • Parts: Spaceship, GB-P1, GB-P2, GB-P3, GP-P4, Fist (2), Rocket Pod Foot (2), Blaster stock, Blaster barrel, small Blasters (2)
The Courageous Power Warrior giftset includes all components necessary to complete the Power Warrior. The arms and legs are interchangeable, and the various parts can still hold a GoBot when combined. Courageous has movement at the shoulders and - just about - the hips, though the latter can easily lead to the figure overbalancing. The arms held in place by rails and the lower legs with spring-loaded clips. The smaller blasters can combine with the two parts of the larger gun to combine into a single weapon, or be attached to the robot's ankles. The colour scheme was exclusive to the North American market, and it is one of the few GoBots toys to feature the Guardian faction insignia.
  • Courageous was simultaneously issued in Renegade colours as Grungy in the same assortment (#7322).

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • After its' debut appearance in Challenge of the GoBots, where it was piloted by the Last Engineer, the Spaceship section was seemingly unoccupied in its' other Challenge of the GoBots appearances. The Spaceship module also seemed to be named 'Courageous' and the combined form 'Power Warrior', but in the remaining appearances the Spaceship was unnamed and the combined form was Courageous. The Spaceship tended to only appear for the actual combination too.
  • Like the Power Suits and Power Warriors, only the Guardian version was seen in the cartoon.
