Synopsis[edit]

Cy-Kill and his command team were driven off by the Guardians while attacking convoys for GoBotron's reconstruction. They were then sieged and boarded by a crew of space pirates captained by the infamous Greenbeard. Undaunted, Cy-Kill approached Greenbeard with an offer of riches. The Renegades and pirates formed an alliance, attacking the Guardian supply fleet throughout the space ways.

Seeking to stop the attacks, Leader-1 and the Guardians stowed away on one of the civilian vessels. When the attack came, they damaged Tank's pirate ship before casting a hologram of them departing, allowing the Guardians to hide inside the pirate ship as it returned to Greenbeard's headquarters for repairs.

At the asteroid hideout, Leader-1 managed to get an audience with Greenbeard and began to negotiate a mutually beneficial cessation of hostilities. Cy-Kill couldn't have that, so he had Crasher accuse Leader-1 of treachery and then plant a knife on him, causing Greenbeard to end the parley and order Leader-1 and Dive-Dive keelhauled.

Dive-Dive delayed their execution with his last request, asking Greenbeard to describe the most beautiful ocean he'd ever seen, before Scooter and Turbo burst in with evidence Cy-Kill planned to betray the pirates. Sure enough, Cy-Kill activated the Ouroboros contingency, causing Greenbeard's ship to navigate directly into the nearest sun. Scooter helped the pirates trick their nav-comp into believed the asteroid base WAS a sun, however, and everyone was saved. Greenbeard promised his fleet would be the scourge of the Renegades from that day forth.

Trivia[edit]

  • Renegade Rhetoric provided a picture of Cop-Tur in pirate costume with a parrot on his shoulder. Some readers remarked that the parrot appeared to be a reuse of the same "animation" for the Last Engineer's altered form thanks to the polymorphic inducer in "Human Resources".
