Rock Lords mini-comics[edit | edit source]

Saberstone and Magmar were passengers in a Stone Wing piloted by Spearhead when the latter crashed in the Rock Glades. However, it turned out to be a happy accident as they discovered the Crystal Palace, stronghold of the Jewel Lords and without any protection as Boulder had just left by Rock Pot. They got inside thanks to Spearhead's thick head and observed Solitaire, Flamestone and Sunstone testing the new nuclo-crystal. The trio of Evil Rock Lords then leapt out and attacked the Jewel Lords, tying them up and making off with the nuclo-crystal despite the arrival of Boulder, Marbles and Nuggit. However, the crystal they had swiped was actually an illusion generated by Sunstone; a furious Magmar made Spearhead and Saberstone comb the Glades for the non-existent crystal, unaware the real thing was still safe in the Crystal Palace. There's Ssomething Flashing over There

Saberstone was released in the third series of Rock Lords by Tonka and converts from robot to rock. The figure was designed by Bandai on behalf of Tonka. As such, the figure was never released in Japan. The head of the figure pops up after a button on her chest is pressed. Sadly Saberstone's arm articulation is limited by her shoulder construction, which greatly limits the joints. As she has tendrils instead of hands her weapon instead clips to the robot's forearm.

In Europe, Rock Lords was a subline of Robo Machine. Sabrestone was issued by Bandai in 1987 with no significant changes beyond the Anglicisation of her name.
