Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]

  • Police Car Robo (1983)
    • ID number: MR-13
    • Accessories: none
Police Car Robo was the 13th figure in Bandai's Machine Robo Series and transforms from robot to Toyota Crown 110 patrol car in 5 steps. Weak points are the arms, where the sliding plastic connectors can work loose, and the figure's large quotient of painted diecast metal, which makes him extremely susceptible to chipping. Like the rest of the range, the figure retailed at ¥600.
  • The figure was later issued as the GoBots figure Hans-Cuff, with no changes aside from the labels on the car doors being changed to English and the additional sticker sheet being omitted.

Machine Robo Series Gashapon[edit | edit source]

  • Police Car Robo (Machine Robo Series, 1985)
    • ID number: 9
    • Accessories: none
A plastic model kit version of Police Car Robo Robo was issued by Bandai in 1985 as part of their Machine Robo Series line of Gashapon. Police Car Robo was part of the second series and retained his ability to transform. The model very closely followed the transformation of the Machine Robo Series version; while it included some stickers for detail the kit itself was cast in a single colour of purple plastic and would require extensive painting to look anything like the picture included on the leaflet.
  • The Gashapon figures were never issued outside of Japan.

Notes[edit | edit source]

TaxiRobo.jpg
  • Someone at Bandai really liked the Police Car Robo mould; as well as the two Best 5 recolours, an adorable taxi recolour was planned at some stage, making it as far as the prototype stage.

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

  1. Between being implied to be an established member of Emerald City's garrison and acting like he didn't know Rom and company, it is likely the Emerald City Police Car Robo is different from ones seen previously.
