Machine Robo[edit | edit source]

Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]

  • Phantom Robo (1985)
    • ID number: MR-51
    • Accessories: none
Phantom Robo was the 51st figure in Bandai's Machine Robo Series and transforms from robot to a JSDAF McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter jet in 3 steps. Sadly the toy is one of the more disappointing Machine Robo jets, featuring a very simple conversion and an awkward robot mode configuration. Like the rest of the range, the figure retailed at ¥600.
  • The figure was later recoloured as the GoBots/Robo Machine figure Mach-3, with a grey colour scheme and blunted nosecone.

Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos[edit | edit source]

Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]

  • Phantom Robo (1986)
    • ID number: MRJ-5
    • Accessories: none
Phantom Robo was reissued for the Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos toyline in updated packaging. The figure was assigned to the Jet Tribe, and featured no changes from the original Japanese release.

Notes[edit | edit source]

PhantomRoboPrototype.jpg
  • A prototype version of Phantom Robo featured different shaped shoulders and what appears to be better storage of the nosecone in robot mode. It also featured a colour scheme that would be used for the GoBots release as Mach-3.
  • While only a single Phantom Robo was seen at a time, raising the chance that only one existed in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos, the one Leina gets shot looks very, very dead.
