Machine Robo Series[edit | edit source]

  • New Shinkansen Robo (1983)
    • ID number: MR-22
    • Accessories: none
New Shinkansen Robo was the 22nd figure in Bandai's Machine Robo Series and transforms from robot to Jōetsu 200 Series Shinkansen in 5 steps. While outwardly the vehicle mode is similar to that of Shinkansen Robo the figure's conversion is considerably different. Compared to most Machine Robo figures, New Shinkansen Robo features very little diecast metal - just the waist/thighs section. Due to mainly being made out of white plastic New Shinkansen Robo is incredibly prone to yellowing. Like the rest of the range, the figure retailed at ¥600.
  • The figure never released outside of Japan, likely as bullet trains weren't well-known in other parts of the world at the time. However, it was later repurposed as the GoBot Vain Train by Fun Publications.
