Disasters won't wait around for Taiyoh to make his mind up.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

MRRE09-001TaiyohBone.jpg

Feeling responsible for the grievous injuries suffered by Jet Robo in the mountain-top fight against Stealth Robo, Taiyoh has left Machine Robo Rescue institution along with Bone. The following morning the rest of Red Wings discuss his disappearance, and decide to search for him before the instructors realise he is missing as well - though Lin's dreadful acting immediately raises suspicions from the other teams. Jet himself is recovering well physically, though the Sky Robos are still undergoing repairs and he feels like he let Taiyoh down. Arias, Lin and Kai visit the hangar looking for Taiyoh; they and the Machine Robo deduce he must have run away. They are interrupted by an alert; Ōguchi Valley's ropeway station has caught fire, trapping a group of visitors in a cable car. The Fire Team mobilises, and the other cadets - having overheard - volunteer to find Taiyoh while Red Wings respond, with Lin piloting Jet Robo. The instructors are now aware of Taiyoh's absence and the Jet Team begins searching for him. Despite seeing Jet launch, Taiyoh is still wracked with guilt - before his instinct warns him a baby is in danger of falling from a balcony in a nearby block of flats. The searching Blue Sirens and Yellow Gears cadets arrive just as Taiyoh grabs the baby as it falls from the balcony, arriving just before their friend loses his balance. Despite the success, Taiyoh is still planning to quit MRR just as Miyajima arrives. The Jet Team meanwhile bombard the fire with extinguisher canisters but it is not enough to combat the blaze. Instead Lin orders Jet to save those trapped on the cable car. Lin boards the car while Arias and the Fire Team battle the flames - watched by Jay and Stealth Robo, who moves in to attack Jet, rocking the cable car. Jet calls the Sky Robo to join the fight, but as they transform the Supporter Robo are still bearing the damage of their previous battle.

Lin activates the Hyper Mode combination from her K-BOY but the damage seriously limits Hyper Jet Robo in the fight. Meanwhile Miyajima drives Taiyoh to the emergency in Police Robo, explaining that Jet feels just as badly about their last encounter with Stealth Robo as he does. Meanwhile the Fire Team's efforts are hindered by falling water pressure, so Arias orders Fire Robo into Hyper Mode. However, the cable car's support wheels are beginning to give way. Kai is becoming overwhelmed by having to coordinate everything himself from the Wing Liner. Above, despite his best efforts Hyper Jet Robo is shot down as Taiyoh arrives. Inspired by some tough love from Miyajima, he contacts Jet, who snaps out of it and revives. Lin hands back control of the Machine Robo, but Taiyoh and Arias squabble over whether to let Fire Robo tackle Stealth Robo. Instead Lin suggests using Jet Robo to combine with the Aider Robo; Sasaki points out that they are not programmed to combine in this fashion but Marie believes it will work, and her father agrees. After Taiyoh and Arias plead their case Fire Robo agrees, so Aider Robos 2 and 3 replace their corresponding Sky Robos, activating an EX Combination. Jet is able to use the foam from the Aider Robos to reveal Stealth Robo before heavily damaging him with a Finger Flash attack. Jay orders a retreat, planning to rebuilt Stealth Robo to be a better match for the MRR Machine Robo. The problems in the valley are soon sorted out without the Disasters to worry about, but on the return to base Chief Bitou sends the Red Wings on cleaning duty due to their initial mistakes - though Marie softens the blow by allowing them to tuck into a buffet prepared by Satoko first and the new Robo Masters are presented with a cake by Lin, Alice and Sayuri.

Continuity notes[edit | edit source]

  • Fire Robo calls the Aider Robo his 'ladies'.
  • Gadgets and Powers:
    • Lin uses a very cool cable-in-a-can device to help secure the cable car.

Continuity and plotting errors[edit | edit source]

  • So, uh, baby Yuri's mother just goes out grocery shopping and leaves her infant alone in a high-level flat with the balcony doors open? While the premise of MRR revolves around hyper-capable children that one seems a bit much. Still probably a better parent than Hideki's father, though.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Due to the common ports on the toys, EX Combination can be achieved with the figures - though as Bandai would point out, it would mean having to buy both sets...
