K-tel is a Canadian company that have sold basically anything you'd care to mention, especially if it was advertised on television. Among their wares were a range of records and books for kids under the "Look, Listen, Learn" catchphrase.

For GoBots they hit on the idea of putting out the soundtrack to the original Challenge of the GoBots mini-series, split across 5 releases in 1984. Each contained a 33⅓rpm 7" vinyl record and a 24-page book. The former featured the soundtrack, linked by additional narration, while the latter consisted off stills and a storybook of the episode in question.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The format took something of a hit when home video came along, and the GoBots releases filled bargain bins for years afterwards.
