"The Harlem Globetrotters! What an honor!"

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

After Fitor and Cop-Tur commented on humanity's love of sports, Cy-Kill decided to conquer the Earth through basketball. He approached UNECOM under a white flag and challenged Leader-1 and the Guardians to a game of basketball, with the loser having to leave Earth forever. Leader-1 decided to accept the challenge as a chance to defeat the Renegades in a non-violent way. To help the team train, A.J. Foster contacted the Harlem Globetrotters to act as coaches for the Guardians.

Meanwhile, the Renegades trained as well, but their selfish ball-hogging and lack of team unity threatened their playing. Fortunately...cheating! Dr. Go designed a telepathic chip empowered by Naismith radiation, allowing Cy-Kill to mentally control the basketball. The Renegades' underhanded victory was now assured!

The day of the game, Leader-1, Turbo, Scooter, Small Foot, and Treds faced off on the court against Cy-Kill, Fitor, Cop-Tur, Crasher and Crain Brain. Some early skill and success by the Guardians prompted Cy-Kill to use the chip, and the Renegades began racking up points. The self-important Cy-Kill ignored Fitor's advice about keeping the cheating subtle, though, prompting the Guardians and Globetrotters to detect something was amiss. At halftime, Scooter reviewed the footage and detected a spike in Naismith radiation whenever the Renegades scored. Suspecting the truth, he believed the source of the radiation could be found in the nearby Thruster.

Spy-Eye and Wrong Way were summoned via Astro-Beam from GoBotron to investigate while the second half proceeded. They located Dr. Go inside Thruster and intimidated the truth out of him, smashing the Naismith radiation generator. The Guardians were behind by 13, but without the Renegade's secret weapon, they made up the difference in the last eleven minutes. The game came down to Scooter and two free throws. With Leader-1 and the Globetrotters believing in him, he made both shots and the Guardians won! Cy-Kill used Wrong Way and Spy-Eye's assault on Dr. Go as "bad faith" on the Guardians' part and reneged on the game's terms, but the Guardians let the Renegades go. Everyone crowded around Scooter and congratulated him on his success!
