Synopsis[edit | edit source]

ROC312.jpg

In a hospital that's still standing inside Emerald City, Ambulance Robo and Leina attend to Tough Trailer's wounds from his battle with Garudi. Leina is taken aback by how little Pro Truck Racer seems to care about his brother, while Rod Drill is given a Blazer Cannon by Kendō Robo. Instead, Pro Truck Racer meets up with Rom, Kendō Robo, Drill, Blue Jet and Triple Jim. Battle Robo, Missile Tank Robo and Skyline Robo want to take the fight to the Gyandlar, but Jim and Kendō Robo argue that they don't have the numbers for that, much to the frustration of Pro Truck Racer. Above Cronos, Diondra tells Gadess and Garudi of her discovery of the Demon Sword, rumoured to be as powerful as the weapons used by Rom and Garudi - though the weapon takes control of whoever wields it. She takes the Varigale-X and uses mechanical wasps to lead Pro Truck Racer to the ship; he is followed by Skyline Robo, Battle Robo and Missile Tank Robo, who want to help him strike back against the Gyandlar. The ship fires on them but the group escapes, with Pro Truck Racer returning to Yamilan. Ashamed at the idea of his brother taking revenge on his behalf, Tough Trailer discharges himself from hospital and finds Battle Robo and Skyline Robo under attack from Devil Rock and Double Rock but struggles to help due to his injuries. Watching from the Varigale-X, Diondra sends over the Demon Sword in the hope Tough Trailer will find it. As she expects it instantly induces an unstoppable desire to fight in him and Tough Trailer makes short work of the attackers. Skyline Robo is unnerved by his merciless manner, however, and looks on shocked as Tough Trailer repeatedly stabs Devil Rock's bisected corpse.

Leina lets Rom and the others know Tough Trailer is gone from the hospital; Pro Truck Racer guesses he's been lured out by the Gyandlar and sets off with Rom, Drill and Jet to find him. They catch up just as he is about to kill Skyline Robo; Tough Trailer begins to attack his brother instead; despite Pro Truck Rider having a clear shot he refuses to kill Tough Trailer. Jet recognises the Demon Sword as Kirai had found it and buried it years before, but when Rom disarms Tough Trailer the sword instantly returns to his hand. Diondra sends a massive Gyandlar force to capture Rom while he's distracted; it doesn't work however, as Baikanfu fights off the Gyandlar troops and then destroys the blade of the Demon Sword. Tough Trailer instantly returns to normal. While the battle rages Pro Truck Racer slips away and attacks the Varigale-X by himself; Diondra escapes, leaving Devil Satan 6 to battle Baikanfu. They both fall into quicksand but Pro Truck Racer returns in time to pull Baikanfu free. Devil Satan 6 sinks while Tough Trailer helps pull his friends to safety. Observing from above, Gadess and Garudi both criticise Diondra for another failed plan.

Featured characters[edit | edit source]

(Numbers indicate order of appearance.)

Notes[edit | edit source]

ROC314.jpg
  • This episode features the first appearance of Skyline Robo.
  • The Demon Sword was originally owned and/or created by Medusa - who is effectively the same character as in Greek myth, but just from Cronos.
  • That Jet knows this when Rom and Drill don't suggests he was either in training with Kirai Stol before them or trusted with some information they weren't.
  • Baby versions of Supercar Robo and Skyline Robo are in the hospital as well; the latter is the brother of the larger version.

Errors[edit | edit source]

Continuity and plotting errors[edit | edit source]

  • Diondra's plan is very much from the eighties cartoon villain handbook, involving using mechanical wasps to lead Tough Trailer into picking up the Demon Sword, when she could just get One to shoot him. Considering her scheme involves sacrificing Devil Rock and Double Rock, why doesn't she just drop one of them on Cronos with the weapon and let them loose on the Machine Robo?
  • After being twice the size of everyone last week, Pro Truck Racer is about the same height as most of the other Machine Robo now.

Animation and technical errors[edit | edit source]

  • Battle Robo briefly turns into Battle Rock when he and Skyline Robo are attacked.
