Bullet and Vain Train were competitive brothers from the early days after the catastrophe that led GoBeings to become GoBots. They joined Hi-Way on a deep space exploration mission which kept them away from home for thousands of years. As they returned to GoBotron, the crew were attacked by Space Hawks piloted by the Renegades. After their capture, Cy-Kill noticed the tension between the brothers and decided to exploit it. He mentally increased Bullet's negative traits, causing him to bully his brother more than usual. After Crasher arrived to lend a sympathetic ear, Vain Train agreed to abandon his brother and join the Renegades. Bullet and the rest of Hi-Way's crew were soon rescued by Leader-1, and joined the Guardians.
Bullet was one of the Guardians who tested out Doctor Braxis's Destabilizer Cannon upgrade for the hand-blasters. Along with Heat Seeker, Van Guard, Sky Fly, and Leader-1's command team, they easily drove off a Renegade attack in Brazil.
The Renegades attacked a UNECOM base in New Jersey to destroy an experimental aircraft. Pumper and Beamer summoned Dozer and Bullet by Astro-Beam as reinforcements, but the Renegades had already accomplished their primary objective and fled before engaging in further conflict.
"Echoes and Fragments"
As Sideways and Gong played with mingling universal streams, Vec-Tor caught wind of their antics and tracked down Sideways. The Cybertronian attempted to flee the old bot, but instead ran into Mach-3 and Bullet, who apprehended him.
